Patton’s practice is dedicated to oil and gas and real estate transactions. His oil and gas practice is focused on title examination, rendering title opinions, and advising on curative matters. His real estate practice includes a broad range of services to real estate developers, investors, lenders, farm and ranch owners, and title companies. Patton is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.

The last thirteen years of Scott’s legal career have been focused on representing the oil and gas industry, and his primary practice areas consist of oil and gas transactions and rendering oil and gas title opinions.
Scott has also worked as an in-house landman for two large private oil companies and was contract division counsel for EOG Resource’s Midland office.
Prior to focusing on oil and gas law, he spent six years as a litigator in Dallas and East Texas, where he handled a wide range of insurance defense, environmental, transportation, employment, ad valorem, real estate, and domestic and international commercial disputes.
Scott is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Scott is also a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and serves on the McMurry University Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Matt is an upstream oil and gas attorney, concentrating his practice on Texas oil and gas title examination since 2011, who counsels clients on transactional matters and associated areas of law and prepares Base, Original Drilling, Division Order, and other Title Opinions and supplements thereto. Ancillary activities include preparing title and curative instruments, conducting legal research covering specific title issues and other areas of law, and calculating complex divisions of revenue interests. Prior to practicing oil and gas law, Matt practiced real estate law and performed real and personal property non-judicial foreclosures. And prior to practicing law, he worked in the accounting industry and served honorably in the U. S. Air Force.
